Ledger
Ledger Nano X
The pocket model with Bluetooth and iOS support
Our review
The Nano X arrived in 2019 and is still Ledger's only classic-form-factor signer with Bluetooth. The difference from the Nano S Plus is short: wireless and a battery, otherwise the same screen and same app. If you use Ledger Wallet on iPhone every day, the Nano X is worth the premium. If you stick to desktop, save the money and get a Nano S Plus.
Best for: The user who wants to sign transactions from an iPhone without an adapter
Pros
- Bluetooth gives you iOS support without an adapter
- Built-in battery for mobile use
- Same coin support as the Nano S Plus
- Brushed steel finish feels solid in the hand
Cons
- Bluetooth widens the attack surface, though all comms are signed
- Secure Element is CC EAL5+, a notch below the EAL6+ chips in newer models
- More expensive than the Nano S Plus with no obvious upgrade for desktop users
