Ledger
Ledger Nano S Plus
The classic pick for hodling at home
Our review
The Nano S Plus is the natural upgrade from the old Nano S and is still Ledger's cheapest device with full coin support. It works as a hardware signer: your private keys never leave the certified Secure Element chip, and every transaction is physically confirmed on the device with two buttons. No Bluetooth, which some see as a feature and others as a limitation. If you mostly use your wallet at your desk, this is our default recommendation in 2026.
Best for: The beginner who wants reliable cold storage without extra bells and whistles
Pros
- Low entry price with a CC EAL6+ Secure Element
- USB-C and battery-free, no Bluetooth attack surface to worry about
- Supports almost every coin you are likely to own
- Ledger Wallet app works on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android
Cons
- Small screen makes verifying long addresses cumbersome
- Firmware is closed source
- No iOS app, unlike the Nano X
