Trezor Safe 5
Trezor with a color screen, haptic feedback and Gorilla Glass
4.6 Last verified 2026-04-26
Our review
The Safe 5 lines up directly against the Ledger Flex: color screen, EAL6+ and a touchscreen. The difference is philosophical, Trezor sticks with open source while Ledger goes certified-but-closed. Both stances are defensible. Pick the Safe 5 and you also get haptic feedback and a small but razor-sharp 1.54" screen.
Best for: The user who wants open source and a color screen with no security trade-off
Pros
- Color touchscreen and haptic feedback make navigation intuitive
- EAL6+ Secure Element and fully open source firmware
- Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen from scratches
- microSD slot for Multi-share backup
Cons
- No Bluetooth or NFC
- Higher price than Safe 3 with no extra coins
- iOS functionality in Trezor Suite is limited
